The Halal cosmetics sector, reached a turnover of 75,000 million dollars worldwide in 2014, compared to 54,000 a year earlier. (report on the Global Islamic Economy, prepared by Thomson Reuters).
It is expected that by 2020 there will be an increase of 5.9% and reach 106,000 million.
To be Halal, formulas must be free of animal traces, toxic substances and aggressive active ingredients such as ethanol. Companies like L’Oréal already have a Halal line.
